What Southern Title and Cinco De Mayo Have in Common

Thinking about celebrating Cinco de Mayo this weekend? Did you know that his “holiday” and Southern Title have something in common?

Many people (wrongly) believe that Cinco de Mayo is a celebration of Mexico’s independence. Actually, it commemorates the Mexican army’s unexpected victory over the French forces of Napoleon III on May 5, 1862 at the Battle of Puebla.

So what does THAT have to do with Southern Title? Independence from the big and powerful is important to Southern Title, and being an independent title agency is an important part of our culture and identity. We are proud to be able to provide you with the kind of service you have come to expect without oversight from venture capitalists who know nothing about real estate closings. By offering you committed, local service and refusing to accept title work from overseas (most of our searches come right out of Volusia County), we resist conforming to what many title agencies have done over the past several years in order to truly deliver a local, hometown home buying experience.

And we will continue to stand up to the big and powerful, with your support!

So however you decide to celebrate Cinco De Mayo, whether you honor the heritage of the Battle of Puebla with a shot of tequila, some cerveza, or guacamole and chips (my favorite!), remember how important it is for the culture and heritage of small countries, and businesses, to survive, and thrive, today.

And before you tip that salt-rimmed margarita, vote for Southern Title for Best Around Title Company. This link is live through May 14!

Gracias!
