Shelley Stewart

Shelley Stewart has served as President/CEO of Southern Title since its founding in 1994. Since then, she has successfully spearheaded its growth into one of the most successful independent agencies in the state of Florida. Today, the Southern Title Family of Companies operates under the direction of Stewart, who reports to a Board of Managers. 

Ms. Stewart is a highly respected leader and agent advocate and is well regarded for her knowledge, insight, and integrity throughout the title insurance industry. She is currently chairing the Public Records Redaction Task Force Subgroup at the request of Florida Senator Kathleen Passidomo, and is an active member of many industry trade associations on a local, state and national level, currently serving as:

  • PRIA (Public Records Industry Association) - Public Records Redaction Committee
  • ALTA (American Land Title Association) - NAIC Committee Liaison, Digital Closing Taskforce, Best Practices Taskforce
  • FLTA (Florida Land Title Association)  -  Government Affairs Committee Chair, Past President, Raymond O. Denham Award Recipient
  • FHBA (Florida Home Builders Association)  - PAC Committee, 1000 Club Member, Nominating Committee, Dick Baker Award Recipient, Past 2nd VP

Stewart is integrally involved in her local real estate community, serving on the Government Affairs Committee at DBAAR (Daytona Beach Area Association of Realtors) and has been Capital Club Chair at the VBIA (Volusia Building Industry Association) for the past 4 years.

Ms. Stewart has been a game-changer in industry since she started as a runner back in 1976. After building a network of customers and co-workers,  she brought ten of the area’s finest real estate closing professionals to Southern Title and opened three branch locations in 1995. Eleven years later, the company had established 21 offices.

Now celebrating its 25th year serving Florida, the company manages 10 Southern Title locations in Volusia County, Flagler County, Duval County, and Lake County.  In addition, the company operates a Commercial Division, a search plant, and offices specializing in escrow accounting, policy production, compliance, cybersecurity, and technology.

Over the past 44 years, Stewart has taken an active leadership role in the real estate title industry.  In addition to the leadership roles noted above, her involvement includes:
